OVERVIEW

A design establishes the plan for creating a particular system, product, or process. It defines the goals and boundaries, while considering aspects such as appearance, functionality, cost, and impact on society. The final outcome is usually a prototype, final product, or method that is intended for a specific use or setting.

CHALLENGE

Having a broad understanding of the entire situation is crucial for successful design. This can pose challenges, particularly in the form of social issues that may arise within the design team and at different stages of the design process. These issues may stem from a lack of understanding of the culture, customs, or lifestyles of clients. The work environment is also vital for the design team's success, as a comfortable and productive work atmosphere is essential. To overcome these challenges, it's important to have a diverse team of specialists from various fields and individuals who are open-minded and able to empathize with different perspectives. The most critical aspect of the design thinking methodology is to comprehend the needs and problems of the target user. People often make premature assumptions after initial research, which can lead to additional problems and hasty final solutions.

  SOLUTION

Having a website that is optimized for mobile devices is essential for its success. It should be designed to be responsive to mobile devices, and use a visual hierarchy to direct viewers' attention to the key components. The layout, including positioning, size, graphics, and contrast, should be consistent throughout the website. A visually pleasing design should be both simple and traditional. Navigation should be easy, the design should be aesthetically pleasing, and the text should be easy to read. A clean design can highlight the value of your brand and content, rather than being distracted by unnecessary visuals or text. Customers often make judgments about the quality of a business or product based on its website design, so having a clean design is crucial to create a positive user experience and promote repeat visits. The color palette also plays a significant role in website design, as different colors can evoke different emotions. Therefore, it is important to consider the principles of color theory when selecting colors for your website design.

    PROCESS

There is ongoing debate among designers from various fields about the methods used in design. Researchers Dorst and Dijkhuis have acknowledged the existence of various methods for explaining the design process. They have distinguished and compared two commonly held but distinct perspectives of the design process: one as a method of reflective action and the other as a method of logical problem resolution. These two paradigms, positivism and constructionism, are fundamentally different ways of understanding the world, they argue. These paradigms, which may have different names, may reflect divergent ideas about how design should be done and how it is actually done. The problem-solving approach is sometimes referred to as the rational model, technical rationality, or the reason-centric approach. The opposing viewpoint is sometimes referred to as "reflection-in-action," "co-evolution," or "the action-centric approach." The design process is a method of identifying what needs to be done and then executing it, which can include achieving a goal, solving problems, or creating something specific.

  OUTCOME

The goal of design is to improve processes, products, services, environments, and experiences through the application of design thinking. To achieve this, design outputs, such as systems, goods, and services, are created with the intention of producing specific design outcomes, including social impacts and results. The design process is iterative and may involve revisiting earlier stages, such as re-empathizing with users or having additional ideation sessions, based on testing outcomes.
